LAND Moto designs and builds electric motorcycles in Cleveland. As the lineup grew, they wanted every bike connected: sending live data to the cloud and answering commands from anywhere.

The challenge

Connecting a vehicle takes a lot of pieces working as one: firmware on the bike, a cellular link, a secure cloud backend, and a dashboard the team can rely on. Every piece has to be dependable on its own and trustworthy as a whole, because riders and the LAND team need to be able to count on it.

LAND wanted one partner who could own that whole chain and move at the speed of a growing company.

What we built

Everything between the bike and the dashboard:

  • Embedded firmware for the bike's connected hardware, including bringing up its connectivity and sensors.
  • Efficient cellular telemetry that sends what matters, when it matters, so data costs stay low as the fleet grows.
  • A secure cloud backend that turns each bike's data into a live feed for the dashboard, and carries commands back to the bike.
  • The dashboard connection, so LAND's web app shows real readings from real bikes.

Security was part of the design from day one, with every bike holding its own credentials in secure storage. And the system never guesses: when someone sends a command from the dashboard, the screen only changes once the bike confirms it.

The result

In about a month, LAND had a working connected system: live data flowing from the bike to the dashboard, and commands going back to the bike. The cloud setup deploys with a single command, and the documentation is thorough enough for LAND's team, or any developer they bring on, to build on as the lineup grows.
